EvalSuite is an online evaluation system developed by Richard
Rathe and Susan Wright
in the University of Florida Office
of Medical Informatics. The system has logged hundreds of
thousands of course, clerkship, faculty, and peer evaluations since
1995. In 1997 we abandoned paper forms and began collecting
standardized patient data with laptops in the Harrell
Professional Development and Assessment Center. This grew to
include the NBME clinical skills assessment pilot program.
In 1999 the system was extended to include online examinations.
In the Spring of 2000 the College of Medicine dedicated a computer-based
testing center to facilitate paperless examinations on a large
scale. In 2003, XAM replaced evalCGI for
high stakes testing. Version 5.0.2 is the first public release of
this software since July 2001.
